Field Associate
ThreeStudio Architecture and Engineering is seeking an experienced Field Associate to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in building inspections, façade assessments, restoration, and construction administration. The successful candidate will spend significant time in the field performing building evaluations while supporting the design and execution of restoration projects throughout New York City.
Responsibilities
ThreeStudio Architecture and Engineering is seeking an experienced Field Associate to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in building inspections, façade assessments, restoration, and construction administration. The successful candidate will spend significant time in the field performing building evaluations while supporting the design and execution of restoration projects throughout New York City.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of building façades, roofs, balconies, terraces, and other exterior building components.
- Conduct existing conditions surveys, document deficiencies, and prepare detailed field reports with photographs and sketches.
- Assist with façade inspections in accordance with NYC FISP (Local Law 11) requirements.
- Prepare repair drawings, specifications, and construction documents for façade and building restoration projects.
- Monitor construction activities and perform site visits to verify work complies with contract documents and project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and building owners throughout all phases of the project.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and field conditions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, inspection records, and construction reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in building inspections, façade restoration, building envelope consulting, or construction administration.
- Experience with NYC FISP (Local Law 11) inspections and exterior wall restoration is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of building materials, façade systems, waterproofing, masonry, concrete, and construction detailing.
- Experience preparing inspection reports, repair documents, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work outdoors, access scaffolding and suspended platforms, and perform inspections at heights.
